Spring is right around the corner! Time to renew and awaken the hibernating body and mind. This is a time for cleansing and a shedding the baggage of winters’ past.  Spring is a great time to detox and cleanse the body and mind. Detox promotes health and clarity. In addition to daily yoga practice, detox can be prompted through what we eat and drink. Foods like blueberries, green leafy vegetables, and garlic provide a gentle and organic way of eliminating toxins and protecting the body from further damage. Tea is also a great way to detox. Green tea, dandelion root and milk thistle are all natural and organic teas and herbs used to aid detox. When detoxing in any way, make sure to drink lots of water! Water flushes out the system and helps the cleanse.

Welcome Spring!

I was searching for a yoga video to share, when I found this hilarious skit. It features Ogden, a student in the teacher training who creates uncomfortable situations during yoga class. I guess you could say this is a yoga don’t. Enjoy!

According to Prana Bar, you can. They have created the perfect treat for the yogi in you. The Prana Bar is based on the principle that

“Enzymes- the delicate dynamos – cannot be duplicated by science, because they are the stuff of life. Enzymes break down food into basic components so that the body can absorb nutrients and eliminate waste efficiently.

Your body can manufacture enzymes, but the more you use your enzyme potential, the sooner it runs out. Nearly all the enzymes naturally present in food are destroyed by processing and cooking, causing your body to deplete its own limited supply when digesting such foods.

Raw, organic and unprocessed foods, rich in enzymes, restore your enzyme levels and increase health, vitality and longevity.”

I tried the Apricot Goji Prana Bar and totally loved it. What a great snack after a hard yoga workout!
